You might have sampled vintages from some of the Long Island wineries, or the Finger Lakes wineries, the Niagara region wineries or any of the many other NYS wineries that are spread out all through the state and even in New York City.

All Finger Lakes Wineries have been reviewed here on NY uncorked previously, see the top tab for “FingerLakes Wine”.  Nestled in the valleys of the central and western parts of upstate New York State is a series of magnificent gem like bodies of water that are somewhat shaped in the layout on the map similar to fingers on a hand.  These beautiful pure water beauties were created millions of years ago as the glaciers of the ice age receded.  They afford the vineyards of the side hills a golden opportunity to grow some of the best grapes in the world as the waters help to temper the winters blasts and create the perfect growing climate for grapes.

This website, NY Uncorked (dot com), was created for promoting New York State Wines of all types.

We have been under new management for about three months now and we are thrilled with the popularity and activity being generated by this website. Our readership is growing leaps and bounds every day!

We do not sell any specific product, and we do not target any specific winery or company in the New York State Wine business. This is an information website, where we inform, educate and entertain our readers. Nothing more, and nothing less.

We write about New York Wineries as you know, but today we want you to experience another of the great wonders of the Finger Lakes Region, and that is known as “hospitality.”

I see California, I see France … In terms of wine, New York is no longer underpants!

New York State wines are slowly working their way into the cellars of connoisseurs throughout the country. New York State offers a wide variety of wines, catering to all palates.

In the past, the State of New York has hamstrung its wine producers with unnecessary restrictions on sales. In May, the Supreme Court ruled that New York’s restrictions on internet sales and the sale of New York wines in other states were unconstitutional, thus paving the way for record sales for New York State vintners. Not that they needed a lot of help.
