The Standing Stone Vineyard
With the purchase of the old Golden Seal Vineyard by Tom and Marti Macinski, the Standing Stone Vineyard was created. They followed the history of the land and previous vineyard to create award-winning vintages in just a few short years. Their first vintage of 800 cases sold out in just 12 weeks. Today production is about 6500 cases but the time-honored traditions of old-world wine making are still employed. The white wines fermentation is temperature regulated while the reds are still aged in American Oak barrels.
This history rich vineyard is located on the east side of Seneca Lake. This location is known for its ideal microclimate for growing and cultivating some of the finest fruits of the French-American hybrid grapes. The winery tours are daily from 11:30 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays the closing time is extended to 6 pm. As part of the tour there is a chance to actually taste a sample of wine right out of the barrel.
From the wine tasting room visitors cannot only enjoy the fine wines but also the sunset over the lake in the early evening just before closing. The selection of award winning wines available are Chardonnay, Smokehouse Semi Dry Vidal, Dry Vidal, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinnacle, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Pinot Noir, Cailloux and Vidal Ice.
Standing Stone wines are available in many stores and restaurants throughout the New York State Area. Online wine orders are also available fior those that need home delivery. The safe and secure website is easy to use. So enjoy New York wines at their best. Try a Standing Stone wine today.
