Six Mile Creek Vineyard

Published by admin at 7:18 am under finger lakes wines

The Six Mile Creek Vineyard is not only the place to uncork New York wines but the best Ithaca has to offer. For over 20 years this vineyard has been producing some of the finest wines from the Finger Lake Region. To go along with the vineyard is an exclusive line of handcrafted Spirits by Battistella to pick from.

From the beginning Nancy and Roger Battistella have personally overseen all aspects of this family owned and operated business. Because of their location near the city of Ithaca, the direct effects of the Finger Lakes are not present. White grapes have a shorter growing season and this is what the Battistella’s specialize in. The grapes are all harvested by hand to prevent bruising that is evident in the quality of wine produced. The distilled alcohols are produced from the grape skins left over from the wine making process which makes this farm ever greener.

Even though the red grapes need a warmer climate, the selections of reds from Six Mile Creek have a medium body with a depth of character with the sweet palates in mind. The selection includes Ithaca Red, Pinot Noir, Quintessence, Cabernet Franc, Odyssey Blush and Dolce Vita.

The white wine selection is considered one of the finest found outside of the German white wine producing area of Europe. With a selection of Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Ithaca White, Vignoles, Pasa Tiempo and Semi-Sweet Riesling.

The distillate line is new from a winery in this area with Vodka, Gin, Grappa and Limoncella to choose from

The vineyard overlooks a valley with a pond that is perfect for tasting New York wines or holding that special event. For those who cannot visit in person ordering wine online is available from their web site 24/7.
