McGregor Vineyard on Keuka Lake
For this New York Winery the eastern shores of Keuka Lake is the perfect location for the McGregor Vineyard. This is a family run Winery since 1980 that follows the European philosophy of wine making. The McGregor’s’ say their wines reflect the “voice of the grapes”. The Vineyards were established before the winery with the planting of 28 acres of Vinifera and hybrid grapes in 1971. With continuous commitment to the vines and hand tending, superior wines have been created. This small but personal touch to creating fine wines can be tasted in their creations.
The varieties of New York Wines created at the McGregor winery are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat Ottonel, Cayuga White, Vignoles, Sereksiya Charni, Saperavi Rkatsiteli and Sereksiya Rose.
In a rustic building overlooking the Keuka Lake from the bluff, is the wine tasting room. This gives the visitors the ambience of the old European flavor that enhances the wine tasting experience.
With multiple ways to experience this winery online the enjoyment and purchase of their wines can be enjoyed all with a computer. McGregor’s is in facebook and they have several blogs. The online ordering of wines can be done 24/7.
But for that personal touch the wine tasting deck and gift shop is open 7 days a week from 11 am to 5 pm. A nice added touch is that while you uncork this New York selection of wines, snacks are served for free.
We encourage you to visit as many of the New York Wineries that you are able to. You will enjoy a great many varieties of tasteful joy.
