Chateau LaFayette Reneau Winery and Inn

Published by admin at 8:00 pm under finger lakes wines

This vineyard at  Chateau LaFayette Reneau Winery is where one can uncork New York wines in surroundings with the feel of yesteryear. The old 10-room brick house was built in 1911, which provides a wonderful view of the vineyards from each room. The renovated barn/winery also has that century old craftsmanship that can be tasted in the wine.

Nestled on the banks of Lake Seneca, the vineyards are fruitful and the harvest bountiful. For those that wish to extend their stay the Inn offers overnight accommodations. Cell phones and alarm clocks are discouraged so the guest and patrons of the winery can truly enjoy this peaceful setting.

The vineyard and winery have walking tours all year round. From April thru October the operating hours are 10 am to 6 pm Monday thru Saturday and 11am to 6 pm on Sunday. In the months from November thru March the hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday thru Saturday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday. The picnic area is open for all to enjoy with its panoramic view of the grounds and lake.

With 88 awards from not only regional and national competitions but international as well, the quality and smoothness of the wines are assured.  The wines available from the tasting room are the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cuvee Rouge, Roaring Red, Chardonnay, Dry Riesling, Seyval-Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Blanc, Northern White, Emperor’s Blush, Riesling Semidry, Meadow Mist, Niagara Mist and Late Harvest Riesling.
